One of my aspirations is to introduce the Bridge world to the 21st century. Like a naughty child it would seem Bridge needs people like me to drag it kicking and screaming as it digs its heels into the ground.

Bridge basics is very straightforward. After following this first video you will certainly be able sit at a table, play for tricks and have a good time doing so. Kids will find the video particularly easy to follow.
Once you have viewed my video, I would suggest that it is best to just play at this level for a while, get a feel for the card play, and have fun. Don’t worry about whether you are following the rules to the letter, because as you progress it will all become clearer. I Read on. . .
Recently, I was told that the governing bodies of Bridge were extremely slow to endorse the simplification of the Bridge for teaching purposes. Apparently, it took decades for ‘mini-bridge’ to be embraced as a key and indispensible tool for teaching youngsters (‘Mini-Bridge is a simplified form of ‘Contract Bridge’ which was first introduced into France and Netherlands in the 90s and later taken up by the ‘English Bridge Union’ – EBU and other governing bodies) – From what I understand, much of the resistance was due to the feared ‘dumbing down’ of the ‘precious’ Bridge game.
